Description

23 High Street is a building from 1929, designed by A Randall Wells. It features a strikingly original design made of Portland stone. The double-height street front has a concave shape with a projecting semi-circular domed entrance porch that includes a round-headed doorway. There are round-headed windows on both the left and right sides of the entrance. Above the porch, the name "Lloyds Bank" is displayed in bold sans serif applied metal lettering. Inside, the banking hall boasts a hemispherical domed ceiling with circular rooflights.
