Description

The entrance gates to Rose Hill, which serve the Richmond Public Library, date from the early to mid-19th century and feature spearheaded ironwork. The gates consist of a central two-leaf carriage section, flanked by two pedestrian gates, all hung from brick piers. The carriage gates are supported by openwork cast-iron piers that are decorated with anthemia ornament and urns.
