Description
The Temple is a late 18th-century building located in Wanstead Park. It features a tetrastyle pedimented Tuscan stone portico that has been painted, with the original cornice mouldings replaced by wooden bargeboards. The central doorway is adorned with a pulvinated frieze and cornice, and there is one sash window on each side of the entrance. The building has a pantile roof and is accessed by steps leading up to it. The Temple is situated on a mound and has later wings added to each side to adapt it for living accommodation.
