Description

The Wanstead Golf Club buildings date to the late 18th century, and were originally a group of outbuildings serving Wanstead House. The complex’s south side features a five-bay brick barn with a pedimented centre and a round-headed archway. It has a pantile roof. The eastern and western ends are defined by two-storey brick buildings, each with a pedimented pantile roof. Weatherboarded one-storey buildings, also with pantile roofs, run around the other buildings, except for the central east and west blocks. Original wrought iron gatepiers remain. The south front of the barn is two stories high with six windows, incorporating a central archway. A modern extension on the south side is characterised by large plate glass windows. The buildings as a whole have undergone alterations.
