Description
Kingston Vale War Memorial is situated opposite the porch of the Church of St John the Baptist, in a green area bordered by hedging on three sides. The memorial features a hooded Calvary cross with a carved figure of Christ. This cross is mounted on a tapered shaft that rises from a square plinth and a three-stepped octagonal base. The names of the deceased are incised on the faces of the plinth, organized by year and preceded by the date of death. The dedication appears on the top two octagonal steps and reads: "THE SOULS OF THE RIGHTEOUS ARE IN THE HANDS OF GOD/ IN/ MEMORY OF OUR DEAD/ 1914 – 1918."
