Description
The War Memorial Cross, erected in 1921, is located in the churchyard near the liturgical east (north-east) end of the church, to which it is attached with metal ties. The memorial features a wooden Calvary cross with a bronze figure of Christ hanging from it, a wooden and tiled gabled weatherhood above, and a wooden shaft. It stands on a square socket stone that is placed on a two-stepped square base. The socket stone includes three bronze plaques with inscriptions: the south-east plaque reads "REST ETERNAL GRANT UNTO/ (NAMES)"; the front (north-east) plaque states "THEM O LORD AND LET LIGHT/ (NAMES)"; and the north-west plaque says "PERPETUAL SHINE UPON THEM/ (NAMES)". Additionally, on the north-east side of the upper step, there is another plaque inscribed with "MY KINGDOM IS NOT OF THIS WORLD".
