Description

Carlton House, located at 44 and 45 Strand on the Green, is an early 18th century building now rendered in stucco. It is three storeys high and features five double-hung sash windows with sills and architraves. A band runs above the ground floor windows. A doorhood is supported by moulded brackets. A modern three-window bay has been added on the first floor and the ground floor, incorporating a door and steps. The building was formerly the home of Air Chief Marshall Sir John Slessor. Carlton House forms a group with numbers 64 to 71.
