Description
The Old School, also known as Marjory Kinnon School, was built in 1847 and is designed in a Tudor style. It features red brick with black brick diapering. The building has a projecting gabled wing on the right side, which includes a stone three-light window with cusped heads, set within a Gothic surround and topped with a drip mould. Above this window is a panel framed in Gothic style that displays a shield of arms.
To the left, there is a two-storey lateral range that has a stone Gothic mullioned window with two lights on each floor. The upper floor was originally topped with a small gable. The central entrance boasts a four-centred headed doorway in Tudor style, adorned with heraldic spandrels. Additionally, there is a projecting oriel window positioned between the floor levels on the right side. All windows are fitted with small diamond-shaped panes, and the building is covered with slate roofs.
