Description

Perryfield and Grenedehar is a building originally constructed as one house in the late 17th century, or possibly earlier, and has since been divided into two houses. Much of the exterior was given its current appearance between the early 18th century and early 19th century, while extensive interior alterations were made to Perryfield House in the late 20th century. The building features roughcast surfacing that is painted, with corner quoins. It is two storeys tall with scattered windows, indicating a complex building history.

The west elevation of Perryfield House has a segmental-arched entrance aedicule supported by a pair of unfluted Tuscan columns with acanthus leaf capitals, reflecting an early to mid-19th century design. The south facade of Perryfield House projects further than Grenedehar's facade and has a centrally placed entrance set in a recessed porch that is square in plan, flanked by fluted pilasters. The entablature features shell ornamentation in the tympanum of the pediment, and the porch includes bas relief ornament, possibly in stucco, dating to the early 20th century. Above the entrance, there is a segmental-arched stair landing window, with two windows to the left and another segmental-arched window to the right.

Grenedehar has its entrance set under a hipped porch that is positioned in the corner of the setback, with a tripartite window above. Perryfield and Grenedehar, along with Glenthorne, The Firs, Acacia House, Highfield Cottage, and the former Magnolia House, form a group of buildings.
