Description
Nos 9 to 15 on High Street in Ruislip is a two-storey, six-bay timber-framed building dating from the 16th century. The front is now smooth-rendered and features modern casement windows with glazing bars. The old tiled roof has a central stack that has been partly rebuilt. There are two modern glazed doors located under pedimented hoods.
The rear of the building reveals its true quality, showcasing a long, continuous jettied first floor with close studding and later brick nogging. There is a moulded beam running along the jetty, while the ground floor is made of old brick and has small leaded casements. Additionally, there is a rendered one-bay north extension that is also jettied and has weatherboarding on the north end.
Nos 9 to 15, along with Nos 1A and 1B, form a cohesive group.
