Description

The Toll House at Cowley Lock is a mid-19th century double span building made of stock brick, featuring hipped slate roofs. It stands two storeys tall and has two windows, with a full basement storey at the rear span. To the right, there is a one-storey office that uses the same materials. The building has sash windows with vertical bars set under near-flat brick arches. A projecting half-glazed porch with a hipped slate roof adds to its character. There is also a later square bay window in the office section. The Toll House is part of a group that includes The Shovel Inn and Nos 73 and 75, highlighting its group value.
