Description
No. 140 High Street is a 17th-century, two-storey, two-bay timber-framed building located on the west side of High Street in Harefield. The south side features exposed timber framing with brick filling, while the east gable end and the north wall have been largely rebuilt using 19th-century brick and include 19th-century casement windows. An old brick chimney with offsets and tumbled brickwork is present on the south wall. The back part of the north wing is likely also 17th-century, although only the front part has been rebuilt. The entrance is located in this front section, which features a half-dormer that breaks the eaves. The building is included in the listing partly due to its position on High Street.
