Description
This milestone, located opposite and to the east of the entrance to Gravel Pit Lane on Bexley Road, is made of Portland stone and dates back to the 18th or 19th century. It features a square post with a grooved plinth and a low rounded top, which is considerably worn. The west side of the milestone displays the inscription "7 MILES TO DARTFORD." The north face includes a bench mark and a later incised graffito. On the east face, it states "9 MILES TO LONDON BRIDGE."
