CRANE STREET SE10 TRAFALGAR TAVERN Former premises of The Curlew Rowing Club, and residence above

(Formerly listed as The Curlew Rowing Club, and residence above)

GV II

The street front is of no interest, being of plain brick, largely restored and with modern windows; but the river front, of circa 1830, forms a worthy continuation to the Trafalger Tavern. Two storeys above retaining wall. Stucco with rusticated ground floor. Entablature with dentil cornice and wreaths in frieze. Blocking course over except in centre where there is a pierced parapet. In centre bay three grouped long sash windows with glazing bars and wrought iron guards. Similar but shorter windows on ground floor. At sides single windows in canted angles, long sashes with delicate glazing bars; and similar ground floor windows below. Crown property.

The Former Curlew Rowing Club forms a group with the Trafalgar Tavern, Park Row.
