Description
This is a pair of buildings, numbers 25 and 26, Park Row, dating from the second quarter of the 19th century. They are three storeys high with a recessed basement, each having two windows to the front, although one-window side bays are slightly set back. The main, central block has a low-pitched slate roof with paired brackets to the deep eaves soffit. The buildings are constructed of yellow stock brick with stone dressings. The central block features rusticated stone quoins and stone bands at the first and second-floor sill levels, along with a stone basement plinth. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars; the centre block windows are three-light. The windows are topped with shallow segmental, gauged brick arches. The first-floor windows in the central block have heavy, balustraded stone balconies supported by scrolled brackets. The entrances in the outer bays are accessed by two stone steps and feature a large beaded panel door with a cornice head and a fanlight, all under a round, gauged brick arch. Wrought iron area railings are present. The buildings are recognised for their group value.
