Description

Nos 107 and 109 on High Street N14 are a pair of buildings from the later 18th century that have undergone some alterations. They are three stories tall and have a five-bay main block, with the center windows being blank recesses. The buildings are constructed of stock brick and feature a parapet front, topped with a hipped slate roof. The late 19th-century sash windows are adorned with gauged brick arches. No 107 has external louvred shutters, while the ground floor is stuccoed and includes 19th-century bay windows—square for No 107 and canted for No 109. No 107 also has a two-story set-back extension on the left and a one-story entrance extension that is set back even further. No 109 features a later 19th-century two-story extension on the right, which is partly set back, but the ground floor is brought forward. These buildings are included for their group value with Nos 107 to 117 (odd), which form a cohesive architectural group.
