  1. Early-mid C18 house of 2 storeys and attic, 3 windows. Tiled gambrel roof with stone-coped gable ends and dormers. Painted brick with stone coped parapet and side pilasters. Segmental arches to later sash windows. Modern reeded surround to door of 6 fielded and 2 beaded panels, top glazed, under cornice hood. Door inserted at left window space. 1st floor centre window round. Small mid-late Cl9 shop with weatherboarded side projects from South end of house. No 172 comprises the shop and a small part of the house; No 174 the remainder of the house.
