Description
Croham Hurst House, built between 1817 and 1818 for John Grantham, is a two-storey building constructed of stucco. It features a symmetrical arrangement of sash windows in a 1-2-1 pattern. The recessed center has French casements on the ground floor, which are flanked by slender cast iron posts and an ornamental railing that remains from a former verandah. The side wings include later 19th-century canted stucco bays on the ground floor, topped with hipped roofs and casements above. The return front on the right has two two-storey canted stucco bays and a cast iron porch with a three-bay design and balcony railings above. The rear, which now serves as the entrance front, is 'L' shaped and features haphazard fenestration, with some areas partly weatherboarded.
