Description

The Church of St Peter was built between 1849 and 1851 by G. Gilbert Scott. This large church is designed in the Second Pointed Gothic style and features a flint-faced exterior with stone dressings and tiled roofs. The structure includes a nave, aisles, chancel, south chapel, north and south porches, and a west tower that is supported by clasping diagonal buttresses and topped with a shingled broach spire. The church is a prominent landmark.
