Description

Fairacre is a large, L-shaped house dating to circa 1890, designed by architect Ernest Newton. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, while the first floor is tile-hung. The tiled roof features two dormers on the front elevation and three on the projecting wing to the left. The front elevation has five casement windows, with three on the side wing and two on the end gable of the wing. Most are mullioned windows, but some are mullioned and transomed. A projecting square tower of red brick is located on the right-hand side, rising through two storeys and into the attic. This tower features a chequer pattern in brick and stonework to the upper attic storey, punctuated by a stone stringcourse.
