Description

Elm Bank is a house dating to circa 1890, designed by the architect Ernest Newton. It is an asymmetrical building of two storeys and attics. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, while the first floor is partly tile-hung. The steeply pitched tile roof has a gable on the right-hand side, featuring wooden bargeboards. This gable contains two dormers and one casement window. The facade has three casement windows. A central projecting portion is topped with a pediment, sheltering a recessed doorcase set within a pilastered surround. The left side of the ground floor features a large lunette window, and the right side has a ground floor bay. Attached to the right side is a simple coach house in a matching style.
