Description

Derwent House is a 1899 building designed by Ernest Newton. The house is two storeys and has attics and is constructed with red brick on the ground floor and tile hanging on the first floor. The roof is tiled, with a hipped section on the left and a half-hipped section on the right, and features two gabled, tile-hung dormers. There are five casement windows incorporating mullions and transoms. A modern, two-storey brick addition is present on the right side. A doorcase is situated under the right-hand gable, sheltered by a semi-circular projecting hood supported on stone columns.
