Description

This garden folly dates to circa 1860 and was built as one of a pair of towers by George Baskcomb for his landscape garden. It was constructed using reject bricks from works within the Chislehurst Caves, with stone dressings. The folly is a Gothic-style tower of four storeys, circular in plan, with a circular stair turret. It features arrowslit openings on each floor. The ground floor has three round-headed openings to the main tower and one to the stair turret. Remains of a stone spiral staircase with open treads are present. The roof and floors were missing at the time of survey.
