BROMLEY HAYES LANE TQ 46 NW 785-/5/10002 Railings and gatepiers to Ravensbourne School

GV II

Railings and gatepiers, c1910 by H. P. Burke-Downing. In front of the main entrance are two elaborate stone piers with gadrooned urns and gates with overthrow incorporating school shield, pilasters, ornament and dograil. To the north-east are two further brick piers linked by wrought iron overthrow surmounted by ball finials and further north-east is a brick pier. To the south- west of the central entrance are two 1930s piers with ball finials. All the piers are linked by a low stepped stone wall with cast iron railings with scrolled piers at intervals. The late C20 section further south-west in matching style is not included.
