Description
The large barn at Howbury Farm dates from the first half of the 17th century or earlier. It is constructed of red brick in English bond, with weatherboarded gable ends. The south side features two projecting wagon entrances, and there are long loop lights in each bay, with two at each end. The barn has a plinth with stone coping and a renewed slate roof. Inside, the roof structure consists of timber arch-braced trusses, with three struts supporting collars that in turn support another pair of struts.
