Description

The gate and gatehouses to the crematorium, along with the attached railings at East Finchley Cemetery, were built in 1937 based on designs by Edwin Cooper. The structures are made of brick in English bond, featuring artificial stone dressings and copings, with tiled roofs. The metal gates are inscribed with "St Marylebone Crematorium." Each wall has a curving design leading to a circular gate pier, and at the far end of each wall, there is a single-storey octagonal structure; the one on the west is enclosed, while the one on the right is open and forms a tempietto. These buildings are included for their group value with Sir Edwin Cooper's crematorium and chapel located to the south.
