Description

Numbers 11 and 15, along with the attached railings, are houses built in 1935 as part of the Hampstead Garden Suburb development, designed by G. G. Winbourne. They are constructed of brick with painted render, and feature flat roofs. The windows are Crittall windows. The houses are two storeys high, with roof-top structures and a glazed stair tower. They have a three-window range, and are built in an International Modern style. The elevation of each house is identical, incorporating a recessed entrance range with balconies to the first floor and a roof terrace, and curved quadrants to projecting side ranges. Curved metal strip windows are present on the curves, and the first floor has French doors. The original design of doors features a metal grille formed of French curves. Garages are located within the outermost ranges. The houses are similar in appearance to numbers 10 and 12 opposite. Numbers 1 to 15 (odd) and 2 to 18 (even) of Lytton Close together form a noteworthy group of International Modern houses.
