Description

Pagitt's Almshouses, consisting of Nos 1, 2, and 3, were built in the late 18th century or early 19th century and were rebuilt in 1832 by Thorne. Originally, they were two pairs of red brick almshouses, but they now feature two Gothic facades made of flint that reflect early 19th-century design. The building is two storeys high with three windows, showcasing Gothic tracery and two quatrefoil windows above. There are two doorways that retain their original doors. The north gable displays a large Y tracery feature on the wall and has a stepped gable. A plaque on the building commemorates the founding of the almshouses in 1678.
