Description

These are artisans' cottages built in 1909 as part of the Hampstead Garden Suburb development. They were designed by George Hubbard and Albert Walter Moore for the Improved Industrial Dwellings Company, working in consultation with Parker and Unwin. The cottages are constructed of painted rendering with a brick plinth and brick dressings, and have tile roofs with swept eaves. They are similar in style to numbers 74-80 Willifield Way.

The buildings are two storeys high with a six-window frontage. They are in a Vernacular Revival style. The entrances to the end units are set within segmental-arched recesses on returns, while the entrances to the central pair are in round-arched recesses in the second and fifth window ranges. A gabled dormer features at the centre of the two ranges, with only the peak of number 104 visible, containing loft slits in a cross pattern.

The outer ranges have double-sash windows, while the windows in the second and fifth window ranges are narrower, also double-sashed. The gabled ranges have tripartite windows, and all windows retain sashes of an original 6x6 or 4x4 design. Axial ridge stacks are present on the party walls, with the stack in the centre being wider than those on the sides. The cottages are part of a larger group, numbers 70-124 Willifield Way, and are roughly symmetrical around the central Willifield Green.
