Description
These are a group of artisans' cottages dating from the early 20th century, situated within the Hampstead Garden Suburb. The cottages are built with painted pebbledash walls, featuring segmental arches above the ground-floor windows. A round brick arch marks the central cross passage. The gable ends of the half-dormers are weatherboarded, and the roof is tiled with a hip design. The building has two storeys and eleven windows. The rear elevation is bilaterally symmetrical, centered around a four-light gable-headed dormer, with a pair of gable-facing half-dormers on either side. Each unit also features a single-storey utility wing at the rear. The cottages are identical to numbers 69-75 Willifield Way. Numbers 57-111 (odd) and 70-124 (even) along Willifield Way, designed by Parker and Unwin and Hubbard and Moore respectively, collectively form a significant architectural group that exemplifies Parker and Unwin's planning principles.
