Description

The gate pier near the junction with Finchley Road was built between 1909 and 1910, likely designed by H. C. Hollis and C. P. Wade, who were assistants in the Parker and Unwin office. The pier is made of brick and tile and has a square plan, standing approximately two and a half metres tall. Each side features a gable finish with tile covering on the cross roof capstone. The design includes decorative patterns created by alternating courses of brick and tile on each face. There are remnants of a low wall attached to the pier, but this is not of special interest. The pier is part of a group with Nos. 1 and 3, and 2, as well as the pier opposite.
