Description
No 3 St George Street is a terrace house dating from the early to mid 18th century, with some alterations from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brown brick and features a slate roof. The building stands four storeys high, including a basement and a mansard attic, and is four windows wide. The ground floor is stuccoed and has segmental arched plate glass windows, with the entrance located to the right. The door consists of six fielded panels and is set within a panelled pilaster frame topped with a cornice. The upper floors have revealed sash windows with later 19th-century glazing, which are positioned under flat arches. Decorative lozenge panels are located between the second and third floors, and there is a cornice and blocking course above the third floor. An early 19th-century cast iron balcony spans the full width of the first floor, and there are cast iron area railings.
