Description
No. 20 Conduit Street is a commercial building dating from around 1900, designed by Treadwell and Martin. It is constructed of stone and stands four storeys high, featuring dormers. The facade has one main bay that is seven lights wide. The ground floor has a 20th-century shopfront. At the top, there is a Dutch gable that spans the entire width, adorned with moulded coping and side scrolls. A central oriel window extends from the first to the third storey, with carved bands at the corners and between the storeys. The windows are mullioned and transomed, and there are carved full-height pilaster strips along the edges of the facade. A thermal window is present in the gable, and there is a tall chimney.
