Description
No 4 St George Street is a terrace house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a slate roof. It stands four storeys tall, with a basement and a mansard attic, and is two windows wide. The ground floor is stuccoed and has later 19th-century sash windows with segmental arched heads, along with a panelled door and fanlight to the right. The upper floors have shallow reveals for the 19th-century sash windows, which are set under flat arches. The building has a parapet with coping and early 19th-century cast iron balconettes on the first floor, as well as early 19th-century cast iron area railings.
