Description
This is a terrace of six houses built in the 1820s for the Trustees of the Bishop of London. Designed by S P Cockerell, the buildings are constructed of brown brick with channelled stucco to the ground and third floors, and a sill band. The roof is hidden behind a parapet. The terrace is four storeys high with a basement, each house containing two bays. Each house has a round-arched entrance with a fanlight above. Window sashes are mostly original and feature glazing bars; No. 54 has radial glazing. A decorative iron balcony is present on the first floor. Flat, gauged brick arches feature above the upper windows, with the exception of No. 49, which has stucco arches. No. 56 has a rendered ground floor with a shop front and a corner entrance.
