Description

The "Physical Energy" equestrian statue, located on Lancaster Walk, was created in 1907 by the artist G F Watts RA. This bronze statue features a large figure of a horse with a nude male rider, set on a granite base. It is a replica of the central feature of the Cecil Rhodes memorial situated on the slopes of Table Mountain in Cape Town.
