Description
A terrace of houses at numbers 25 to 38, Hyde Park Gardens, dating to around 1840. The buildings are constructed of stucco with slate mansard roofs. The central five houses project slightly forward, while the end houses are slightly recessed. The terrace is four storeys high, with an additional attic to the central five houses, and attic mansards to the others. Each house has three windows across the front. The ground floor features channelling. Projecting Doric porches are present, with a full Doric colonnade to the central house. A cast iron balcony, with pineapple finials, breaks forward over the porches on the first floor. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars; those on the ground floor are architraved, the first and second floors have cornices, and the first floor windows of the central five houses as well as the end houses are pedimented, treated as single triplets with flanking Corinthian order. A cornice above the third floor incorporates consoles and dentil details to the central five houses. There is also a cornice to the attic. Cast iron area railings with pineapple finials complete the exterior.
