Description

This is a terrace of six houses, numbered 16 to 24, located on the north-west side of Buckingham Palace Road in the City of Westminster. They were likely built around 1830 and are constructed of stucco. The terrace has a low slate mansard roof. Each house stands three storeys high with an attic and a mansard attic, and originally featured two windows. The central three houses are set slightly forward to create a symmetrical appearance. The elevation is characterized by giant pilasters positioned between the windows, extending upwards through the first and second floors. The ground floor now accommodates shops, which have been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The windows are square-headed and architraved on the first floor; those of the central three houses have pediments. The windows are largely sash windows, although some first-floor windows are French casements. A triglyph frieze and cornice are located above the second floor. There is a return elevation to the left, leading into Victoria Square, and a rear elevation facing Victoria Square.
