Description
No. 23 Dunraven Street is a terrace house with its west elevation facing Park Lane. It dates back to 1758, with alterations made in the mid and late 19th century, and further modifications in an Italianate style by the architects Trollope and Colls in 1907-1908. The building is faced with stucco and features a slate roof. It stands four storeys tall, with a basement and a dormered mansard roof, and is three windows wide.
The ground floor is channelled and includes an Italianate Ionic columned porch on the left. The windows are recessed sashes with glazing bars, and the upper floors have eared architraves, with the first-floor windows adorned with friezes and cornices, as well as blind balustrades between the dies. There are sill courses and a cornice above the second floor.
On Park Lane, there is a full-height canted bay with a segmental bowed front on the first and second floors. The windows in these floors feature tripartite glazing bar sashes within architraves and are complemented by a cast iron balconette. The main cornice above the second floor includes elements from both Trollope and Colls and earlier 19th-century work. Additionally, there are cast iron spearhead area railings.
