Description
Tq 2780 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER DUNRAVEN STREET W1 67/13 24.2.58 No. 22 (Including No. 131 Park Lane) G.V. II Terrace house with west elevation to Park Lane. 1758 with alterations in 1802 designed by Soane but executed with differences by John Spiller, subsequent early and mid C.20 alterations. Stucco faced with slate roof. 4 storeys, basement and dormered mansard. 4 windows wide. Channelled ground floor with entrance in 2nd bay from right, having an enclosed porch, now projecting to pavement but originally shallower, the segmental arch, panelled pilaster strips and roses in Spandrels as well as the narrow semicircular arched side lights may be remnants of Soane's design, later balustraded parapet. Recessed sash windows, no glazing bars, with shallow eared architraves on upper floors. Plat bands, sill bands and cornice and parapet. To Park Lane a series of stepped segmental bows are the executed variants on Soane's proposals, the columns of the 1st floor glazed-in verandah,a design of 1914; the 2nd floor verandah with coupled square piers and segmental arches still rather Soanian with wrought iron railing and plain wrought iron railing above.
