Description
No. 22 Dunraven Street, which includes No. 131 Park Lane, is a terrace house built in 1758 with alterations made in 1802. Although originally designed by Soane, it was executed with differences by John Spiller, and it has seen further alterations in the early and mid-20th century. The building is faced with stucco and has a slate roof, standing four storeys tall with a basement and a dormered mansard. It features four windows across its width.
The ground floor is channelled, with the entrance located in the second bay from the right. This entrance has an enclosed porch that projects to the pavement, although it was originally shallower. The segmental arch, panelled pilaster strips, and roses in the spandrels may be remnants of Soane's design. The building has a later balustraded parapet.
The upper floors have recessed sash windows without glazing bars, featuring shallow eared architraves. There are plat bands, sill bands, and a cornice and parapet. The facade facing Park Lane includes a series of stepped segmental bows, which are variations on Soane's proposals. The first-floor has a glazed-in verandah designed in 1914, while the second-floor verandah features coupled square piers and segmental arches that retain some of Soane's style, along with wrought iron railings above. Additionally, there are early 19th-century cast iron area railings with acanthus pommel finials.
