Description
No. 97 Park Lane is a terraced town house rebuilt in 1826-27, with alterations made in the 1890s. The building is stuccoed and features a slate roof, standing five storeys tall with a basement. The front is fully canted and has three windows wide, with the center slightly advanced. The ground and first floors are channelled, and there is a central entrance with a plain stucco frame. Above the entrance, there is an ornate cast iron window guard. The upper floors have casement windows set in architrave surrounds, with sill bands and plat bands, as well as a main entablature over the third floor. The building is topped with a crowning cornice and blocking course, which includes a cast iron guard rail. A cast iron verandah balcony is present on the second floor, supported by trellised and fretted spandrels under a tent roof. The area railings feature spear head designs with pine-cone finials. The interior was refurbished around 1900, which included an enlarged entrance hall and staircase at the rear, along with panelling and other details.
