Description
No. 16 Gerrard Street is a terrace house built around 1730, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of brown brick and has a slate roof. It stands four storeys tall, with an attic storey added. The facade features three windows. The ground floor has a mid-20th century shop front, while the upper floors have recessed casements, with sash windows in the attic, all framed by mid-19th century stucco architraves. There is a band course above the second floor, a mid-19th century crowning cornice, and a blocking course. Notably, Chesterton and Belloc met for the first time in 1900 when No. 16 was the Mont Blanc restaurant.
