Description
Nos. 52 and 54 Queen Anne Street are terraced houses built in the 1760s as part of the Portland Estate development. They are constructed of stock brick with a channelled stucco ground floor and feature a slate roof. The buildings rise four storeys with dormered mansards and are set on basements. Each house has a two-window wide front. The doorways are located to the right; No. 52 has a wooden doorcase supported by engaged Doric columns, with triglyphed dosserets and an open pediment. It features a panelled door and a semicircular fanlight above a corniced doorhead. No. 54 has a semicircular arched opening with a panelled door and sidelights set in shallow console jambs, along with a corniced doorhead beneath a fanlight. The upper floors have recessed sash windows under flat voussoired stucco arches. A plat band finishes the ground floor stuccowork, and the parapets are topped with copings. The wrought iron area railings have flambé urn finials and are ramped to standards flanking the steps. The interiors have not been inspected.
