Description

The war memorial, dating from around 1925 to 1930, features a sculpture of St. George and the Dragon, created by sculptor C.L. Hartwell, a Royal Academician. It consists of a bronze group mounted on a Portland stone pedestal, located in the center of a roundabout. The design is in a Neo-Baroque style, showcasing an equestrian figure of St. George as he spears the dragon.
