Description

Nos. 24 and 24A Litchfield Street are a pair of terraced houses with a shop, built around 1778. The building is constructed of stock brick, with a concealed roof. It is four storeys high and three windows wide. The ground floor features a shop front dating from the mid to later 19th century, with a panelled and glazed door and a rectangular fanlight on the right-hand side. A display window with large panes and thin glazing bars is located to the left, both elements framed by pilasters and console brackets supporting an entablature-fascia. The upper floors have recessed sash windows with glazing bars, each set within a flat, gauged brick arch painted red. Stone plat bands are positioned at the first and third floors, and a stone-coped parapet tops the building. A survey of London, Volume XXXIV, documents the building.
