Description
The Welsh Presbyterian Church Manse, built around 1888 by James Cubitt, is located on Shaftesbury Avenue in the City of Westminster. Constructed of red brick with stone and terracotta dressings, it features a slate roof and showcases Free Gothic and Romanesque architectural details. The building stands four storeys high with an attic and is divided into two bays by engaged columns, with end pilasters. The windows are arranged in a rising order: two (one of which incorporates a door), four, two, six, and a two-light Tudor arched attic window in the gable. The openings are semicircular and segmental arched, chamfered with roll mouldings on stone imposts. Moulded strings run along each floor, and lesenes rise through the attic to stone finials on the gable coping.
