Description

This is a mid-18th century terrace house on Welbeck Street, London. It is built of yellow stock brick with a slate roof and closely resembles the adjacent property at number 7. The house is four storeys high with a basement, and has a width of three windows. The ground floor features stuccoed rustication, with windows set within architrave surrounds. The left-hand entrance is accessed through a six-panel door, topped with a rectangular fanlight and sheltered by a cornice hood supported on console brackets. Upper floor windows are sash windows; glazing bars remain intact on the third floor, and are set beneath flat, gauged arches. A plat band runs along the first floor. A parapet with coping is present, along with cast iron area railings featuring tasselled spearhead finials. The interior has been altered.
