Description
16A Curzon Street is a corner terrace house built in the late 18th century, with some alterations. The building features stock brick above the ground floor and has a stone-faced bank premises from the early to mid-20th century, topped with a slate roof. It stands three storeys tall with a dormered mansard roof. The facade is two windows wide, with a five-window return to Chesterfield Street, where the central bay is set forward to accommodate the bank entrance. The ground floor has a Neo-Georgian bank front beneath an entablature. The upper floors have revealed sash windows without glazing bars, with the sills lowered on the first floor and set under flat gauged arches. There is a bracketed cornice and parapet, along with cast iron balconettes on the first floor. This building is included for its group value, particularly as it flanks the entrance to Chesterfield Street.
