Description
No. 1 Chesterfield Street is a terrace house built in the late 18th century. It features yellow stock brick above a channelled stucco ground floor and has a slate roof. The building stands three storeys high with a dormered mansard and is two windows wide. The doorway is located to the right and is topped with a cornice supported by heavy console brackets. The revealed sash windows, which do not have glazing bars, are set under flat gauged arches. A stone cornice runs above the second floor and extends from the adjoining No. 16A Curzon Street. The parapet has coping. This house is included for its group interest as part of the block with No. 16A Curzon Street, which flanks the entrance to Chesterfield Street.
