Description
This is a row of houses dating from the early to mid-19th century, located in Chesham Place, with numbers 2 to 6 extending into Lowndes Street. The buildings are constructed of stucco and have slate mansard roofs. They are three storeys high, with an attic, a mansard attic, and a basement. Each house has two windows wide. The ground floor is characterised by channelling.
Numbers 2 to 6 Lowndes Street feature Doric projecting porches, with a colonnade to number 2. First-floor balconies are present on all houses except number 14 Chesham Place. The balconies are balustraded on the Lowndes Street side and have cast iron balustrades facing Chesham Place. The windows are square-headed with architraves, utilising sash windows with glazing bars. Some windows on the first floor have French casements, while some also have cornices and pediments. A dentil cornice sits above the second floor, with a simplified subsidiary cornice to the attic. A parapet tops the building, and dormers are visible in the roof. Cast iron area railings are present.
